BOI (Board of Investment) approval of an existing Thai company or a newly registered company in Thailand was established by the Thai government in order to facilitate foreign investment in qualifying Thai companies.

In order for a Thai company to qualify and receive the benefits of BOI status, the company’s activities must fall into one of the 8 main preferential categories. From there, each category is broken down into further more specific groups.
